black history month

Langston University is a all black four year school in Langston Oklahoma its located straight east of Guthrie. The city was found on October 22, 1890 by Brandon Guage Curtis a Native American from Oklahoma. Curtis helped many black move from the southern states to the Indian territory to make a black community. He named the town after John Mercer Langston a black member of the 51st United States Congress from Virgina. The school was found in 1897 and was known as the Oklahoma Colered Agriculture and normal University.
